Freshsales Cancellation: What to Check Before You Leave

Freshsales is part of the Freshworks platform, so the commercial and data-retention rules should be checked at the Freshworks terms level.

Research checked: September 19, 2026 Author: Jamal Bouch
Scope: This page focuses on cancellation, renewal, refund and data-exit mechanics.

Cancellation and payment obligations

Freshworks' current terms govern the subscription relationship and payment obligations for its services.

Before cancelling, check the order or subscription record for the applicable term, renewal date and payment status.

Export your data before closing

Freshworks strongly recommends exporting customer data before closing an account.

The current terms provide a fourteen-day Data Export Period from effective account closure for the circumstances described in the terms.

What happens after the export period?

Freshworks says that beyond the Data Export Period it reserves the right to retain customer data for up to three months before deleting it in the normal course of operation, subject to legal and other stated requirements.

The fourteen-day export window should therefore be treated as an important operational deadline.

Safer cancellation sequence

Confirm the subscription term and renewal date.

Export data while the account is active.

Verify the export.

Cancel or allow the subscription to expire according to the applicable terms.

Record the effective closure date.

Review before leaving

Check user and seat counts.

Review add-ons or connected Freshworks products.

Check automations and integrations.

Review billing records and outstanding invoices.

Keep your exported customer data.
