Kit Cancellation: What Happens to Your Subscribers and Data?

Kit's pricing is subscriber-based rather than a simple per-user SaaS model. That makes the exit calculation different from a seat-based CRM.

Scope: This page focuses on cancellation, renewal, refund, subscriber tiers and data-exit mechanics.

Pause or downgrade instead of deleting

Kit's current billing documentation says customers can pause or downgrade to the free plan and that data is saved so the account can be returned to later.

Subscriber tiers affect the bill

Kit's paid plans use subscriber tiers. Kit gives an example where reducing a list from 1,200 subscribers to 800 can allow a move to a lower tier.

This is why Kit should not be treated as a normal per-user calculator input.

Refund policy

Kit currently states that it has a 30-day refund policy covering all plans, including annual plans.

Payments made more than 30 days before the refund request are not refunded or prorated under that policy.

Permanent deletion is different

Kit says an account deletion request is completed within 24 to 48 hours.

Kit says account data is permanently deleted when the account is deleted and advises exporting subscriber and other data first.

If fewer than 48 hours have passed, Kit says support may be able to cancel the deletion request.

Practical exit checklist

Export subscriber and account data.

Check subscriber tier and next billing date.

Decide whether pause or downgrade is enough.

If requesting a refund, do it before deleting the account.

If permanently deleting, keep a final export and confirmation.

Important: This is independent research, not legal advice. Your order, contract, plan, country and product-specific terms can affect the exact result.
