monday CRM Cancellation: Refunds, Notice and Auto-Renewal

monday.com's cancellation rules differ depending on whether you are a new customer or an existing customer at renewal.

Scope: This page focuses on cancellation, renewal, refund and data-exit mechanics.

The 30-day notice point

monday.com's current support guidance says existing customers who want to cancel at the end of their current term must give 30 days' notice before the subscription end date.

If the required notice is not provided, the plan may auto-renew under the applicable terms.

New customers have a different refund rule

First-time purchasers have 30 days from the initial purchase to request a refund, subject to the stated process.

Eligible refunds are prorated for unused time. This does not apply to monthly subscription renewals.

What happens after cancellation?

If an eligible new customer cancels with a refund, access is blocked immediately.

If an existing customer cancels after a renewal where a refund does not apply, access continues for the remainder of the paid billing period.

Auto-upgrades and seat limits

monday.com says an account can be automatically upgraded after exceeding its paid seat limit. Removing users does not automatically trigger a refund.

Where the stated auto-upgrade refund conditions are met, the customer must reduce active seats to fit the original plan and request a refund within 30 days of the original auto-upgrade.

Exit checklist

Determine whether you are a first-time purchaser or existing customer.

Record the end and renewal dates.

For existing customers, work backwards at least 30 days.

Export important information before a refund cancellation.

Check active seat count and automatic upgrades.

Important: This is independent research, not legal advice. Your order, contract, plan, country and product-specific terms can affect the exact result.
