BUYER TOOL

The SaaS Commitment Checklist

A practical pre-purchase checklist for finding growth costs, extras, limits and exit friction before committing to software.

Use this before any SaaS commitment. The checklist is designed to catch the costs that a headline price can hide.

Before you buy

1. Billing

Monthly vs annual? Paid upfront? Introductory discount? Renewal price? Taxes?

2. Minimums

Minimum seats, contacts, records, domains, projects or usage?

3. Growth

What happens when your team or usage doubles?

4. Extras

Which features require add-ons, credits or separate products?

5. Limits

Storage, automation, API calls, contacts, emails, AI or other quotas?

6. Exit

Can you cancel easily? Export all important data? What happens to history and integrations?

The five questions most buyers skip

  1. What will I pay after the introductory period?
  2. What will I pay when my team reaches 10, 25 or 50 users?
  3. Which feature I may need later is not included today?
  4. What usage-based charges can appear as I scale?
  5. How much work will it take to leave?
