Business Software: Compare the Real Cost Before You Commit
Business software is rarely priced as simply as the number shown on the first pricing page. Seats, contacts, usage, upgrades, add-ons and renewal structures can change what you actually pay. SaaSRealCost compares those cost drivers using the same Real Cost Score™ framework.

The Real Cost Score™ is designed to answer a simple question: what will this software really cost you as your business grows?
Each criterion receives equal weighting: 20%. The final score is therefore based on the same methodology for every provider.
What to check before buying business software
- Don't compare only the advertised starting price. Calculate the price at the size you expect to reach.
- Check what happens when you grow. Seat-based, contact-based and usage-based pricing can change the economics quickly.
- Look for mandatory extras. Onboarding, additional contacts, automation, integrations and usage credits can all affect total cost.
- Check the renewal structure. A low introductory price is not necessarily a low long-term price.
- Consider the exit route. Your software choice should remain financially manageable if you later decide to switch.
Why the Real Cost Score™ matters
Two software products can offer similar features while having very different long-term costs. The Real Cost Score™ is designed to make those differences easier to see before you commit.
We research providers independently and apply the same five criteria to every provider. A provider does not need an affiliate relationship to be included in the research.
